$19.9 Million Student Loan Bankruptcy Debts Written Off in One Year

5/4/2018

The government's most recent public figures show that, in the 2016/2017 year, 514 student loan debtors chose the bankruptcy option. As a result, $19.9 million of student loan debt was written off in one year. In the previous year $17.6 million was written off by 483 student loan debtors becoming bankrupt. With the numbers of out of control debts increasing, more borrowers feel they have no other option, however, it is also easy to see why the government has talked about abolishing the bankruptcy option. People who delay may find that they miss out.
