There are a growing number of reputable education providers who offer free, or nearly free, skills and tertiary education courses. Examples include Khan Academy, EdX (founded by Harvard and MIT), Udacity, and Codecademy. Richard Branson recommends this new way of learning as a way of avoiding a “debilitating burden…of student debt” and as a way to quickly, and cheaply, acquire in demand skills.
Free, alternative education won’t suit everyone, but if you are thinking about your future path, it is an option worth considering.
