A recent study found that having a student loan debt can make borrowers significantly worse off for the rest of their lives. According to Fuseworks Media, a couple with a student loan debt of $30,000 each "will be $240,000 worse off in retirement than a couple without debt but with the same earnings, principally because of the delay in entering the housing market".
