Travelling for Christmas?

1/11/2016

Comments

This is the time of year when people are planning Christmas trips back to New Zealand to visit family. We know that many of you are anxious about the possibility of being arrested because you are behind on your student loan. Don’t let an arrest, or worrying about whether that could happen to you, ruin your holiday plans. If you sort out your arrears there is no risk of arrest. They can be sorted by entering into a payment plan with the IRD, paying the arrears off, being granted financial hardship, or by becoming bankrupt. If you do become bankrupt you will need permission to leave New Zealand but this is usually easily obtained.

If you are planning a trip to New Zealand, we recommend sorting your student loan debt out ASAP. Please let us know if we can help.
