Following on from our recent post about free, and nearly free, tertiary alternatives we have details of another option. The University of the People is an accredited university, supported by renowned partners like New York University, the University of California at Berkeley, Microsoft, and Google. The University of the People is not free, but the cost is much less than the cost of studying at a New Zealand university. As an example, the cost of a bachelor's degree from the University of the People is around US$4,000. In New Zealand that would probably cost you at least NZ$20,000. This type of education isn't suitable for everyone, but if it might suit you, it is worth serious consideration given the large savings and good quality.
